Weekend Of Off-Roading, Camping & Socialising

Post by AndyL » Fri Mar 17, 2017 8:39 pm

Hi All,

Who fancies a weekend of off-roading, camping and socialising??

I have provisionally secured us (numbers dependant) the use of Wildtracks 4x4 zone and our own camping space exclusively for the DOC.

It would be a great way to start bringing the club together, meeting each other, Learning some new skills and if you've never been off the beaten track before, a good way to learn what your Discovery can do.

Then in the evening a good social to talk stories, swap ideas.

The site boasts an on-site diner, childrens play area, power washing facilities and a whoe host more.

The cost for the weekend will £65 and this includes two days use of the off-road area and camping for the weekend.

Should this go well this could be the start of a national meet each year.

A map of the site is attached just to give a taster of what is available.

If you are interested them please pop your ideas on a reply regarding your thoughts and a date.

Maybe prior to June before the show season starts?

A discussion is also running on the Facebook page so i'll try and keep the information running in tandem for the non-facebook users. I am looking at the 6-7th May before the show season kicks off but this is not set in stone.

I have found in my bitter experience, that there is a clash with some other event on every weekend between Easter and Christmas. Some weekends are obviously very popular and get massively over subscribed (bank holiday weekends, half term dates etc).

its a shame that i will be in sunny spain, getting a few rays \:D/ \:D/

it is a good place to go, but stay out of the deep water,, it can do damage,,,, as i found out to my dismay. lol
hope you all have a good weekend, and i will hopefully do the next meeting there.
