Remote Locking/Unlocking & Immobiliser problems

Hi folks .. only just found this forum. I own a 1999 reg Discovery TD5 GS .. over the past week I have had intermittent problems unlocking/locking the car using the remote key-fob, at first I suspected the internal batteries were low, so replaced the battery in both fobs .. the problem still persists.

I have noticed that the problem seems worse when the outside temperature drops i.e. first thing in a morning (the car is un-garaged) when I have to resort to unlocking the car using the key & entry code method .. at other times the fobs work perfectly well.

I would be grateful if some kind soul could suggest the cause of the problem & perhaps steer me in the right direction to getting it fixed.

Many thanks in advance,

Kev .

Alan,

Very many thanks for the prompt response .. would you believe the thing worked perfectly this morning ? Admittedly the outside temp here in Lincs has risen slightly .. I will however give the people you suggested a ring & discuss it with them.

Again, thanks very much .

Ash - do you have any photos of this?? Or can you explain how? I have a desperate need to get the disco driveable by saturday again (I require it for work) and although i've ordered a set they won't be here until next week?

Most earnestly looking forward to your response.

Steve

Joycey,

I can copy a page from the haynes manual for you but I doubt the pictures will be very clear. Is it a Disco 200 Series
