Strick new mot

Post by Serangati » Thu May 31, 2018 7:07 pm

Evening all,
I have just got hold of a well maintained serangati which has mot until October, tidy and good runner but today my mechanic has told me to scrap it as it won't pass the new mot.it has had it 4wd disabled and has 120k on clock.
My question is , do I try to keep it running or scrap?

More information required, exactly what has been disabled, as discovery’s are permanent 4WD, you can remove a prop shaft and put it in diff lock but that’s only side stepping the problem, rust can be cut out and welded, most parts are available either from new/ salvage or after market
120 K on the clock is nothing at all, if it’s well maintained it sho7ld pass the mot, not much has changed they’ve all be told to be stricter on existing test items, you don’t get advisories anymore
You might need to change your MOT station

Martin
