Portable Sat Nav - Useful Advice From Thames Valley Police

Post by stefan » Mon Jun 26, 2006 7:25 am

A bit of audience participation please

Hands up all of you who have Satellite Navigation Equipment in your vehicles?

Keep your hands up if you really value this wonderful piece of technology?

Sorry, but those 1,216 who had their sat?navs? stolen in the last six months in the whole Thames Valley Police Area can put your hands down.

I am particularly concerned with the 78 victims of crime in Bracknell Police Area who had their sat?nav? stolen this year to date. (That?s more than the whole of the Thames Valley in all of 2005)

I would like you to take much better care of the new replacements.

As you have been victims already, you will heed my advice about removing them from the cradle, then removing the cradle from the windscreen, carefully wiping the tell tale sucker ring mark from the glass.

Always take the sat? nav? with you whenever you park your car.

You wouldn?t leave ?300 on the dashboard, would you?

Thwart the car thieves, always leave an empty car.

Thank you

Some good advice, don't be a victim!

Stay safe, remember, most sat nav units don't just get you from A - B, they may also contain a list of addresses you use!
