Tim has produced a schedule of events for the weekend.
Roy.Discovery Birthday Party. Friday 19th to Sunday 21st October 2018The Friday (19th)
We are doing some green lanes these will be scratchy as always, but I like to think non-damaging this of course I say loosely as it’s dependent on the driver but we will always spot (give directions) to get people through the tougher bits, all lanes are south east Cornwall.
We ask all drivers to check your bump stops
, Our aim is always not to damage anything, car or country, but we accept no responsibility for damage. We will drive all lanes a few weeks before to make sure of condition though.
A working CB radio is a bonus! Please bring food/drink for the afternoon, when the plan will be to finish at the Cody Shack for fish and chip dinner.
11am Meet at Castle Motors on the A38 postcode. Liskeard PL14 3PX leaving 11.15 sharp!
Cody Shack, Great Tree Farm, St Martins, Looe PL13 1NXThe Saturday (20th)
The team will be meeting on the Hoe at 9 am. We ask members to make their way to the Hoe for 10 am and please respect the speed limit of 5 mph and follow instructions of the marshals, HAZARDs on at all times when on the Hoe please. Enter via Elliot street PL1 2PP.
This year we have had to find a huge bond for the Hoe which has very kindly been covered. Could you all please take a little time to make sure we don’t leave oil! (I make sure mine’s empty) if you drip, please bring cardboard or old carpet and spill kits etc.
We will need you all to sign in as per normal. We will leave the Hoe at 1pm (13.00) heading for the Torpoint ferry lanes. We all need to line up left of centre. I will lead, so follow me and then filter to my right.
It can be an issue travailing from the Hoe to the ferry, please be respectful of other road users but try and keep the Discovery behind you in your rear-view mirrors, this way we lose no one.
From the ferry we travel to Mount Edgecumbe Park PL10 1HZ via Whitsand Bay, with a short photo stop at Tregantle car park where we aim to make a Cone shape like last year’s photo.
Once at Mount Edgecumbe Estate there is a drive through the Deer Park with a £5 donation per car to their charity, which helps maintain the park.
Leaving the park at 4.40 pm you are welcome to join us at Whitsand Bay Fort. L10 1JZ for pre-dinner drinks or to do your own thing. The evening do starts at 6 - 6.30 pm with a Carvery, £8.95 adult and £3.95 child. (veggie and vegan are same price but need to know in advance) please let one of the team know. The Sunday (21st)
We will be meeting at 10 am …. Ivybridge Tesco’s carpark Lee Mill Industrial Estate, Central Ave, PL21 9PE.
But this year we are doing something a little different. Instead of the railway, we will leave Tesco’s at 10.15am, and travailing up the A38 to Heathfield and joining the A382 into Moretonhampstead, where we will be visiting Moretonhampstead Motor Museum. http://moretonmotormuseum.co.uk/
£5 each entry.
We will then be moving on for a cream tea at the Two bridges hotel as per normal
We aim to leave the museum at 2 pm and travel to the Two bridges hotel Dartmoor National Park – Devon – PL20 6SW
Here we have a cream tea booked for 4 pm but we need numbers so please let a member of the team know. Price is £5.50 per person and dogs are welcome too.
We hope we have got all this right if you need any more info please drop us a call or email firstname.lastname@example.org
